Telehealth monitoring shifts patient treatment from the traditional medical environment into the home.

A HealthCare IT News survey shows that the coronavirus pandemic has increased the willingness of two-thirds of participants to try virtual healthcare.

Luckily, The Federal Communications Commission has created a $200 million fund for telemedicine services.

It is possible for every disease, from common colds to chronic care management. Patients can quickly and easily connect with a trained health expert for necessary care or screenings.

Here, we will explore what conditions we can treat remotely.

Diabetes

Tracking a diabetic patient’s food is another use for remote patient monitoring. The patient and their healthcare provider receive automatic notifications from monitoring equipment when a patient’s blood sugar level rises or falls.

This ongoing observation is very helpful for people with diabetes because it gives them a clear picture of their health.

Caregivers can modify a treatment plan based on the same information to help patients manage their disease.

Furthermore, a few supplements, such as Berberine UltraSorb, that can be prescribed remotely have the potential to manage blood sugar.

Allergies and Asthma

Asthma and allergy patients are increasingly starting their journey with virtual doctor consultations. Allergists can remotely perform initial tests and evaluate a patient’s symptoms to decide whether further testing is required.

Furthermore, you can also do the majority of follow-up visits remotely. An in-person visit is only necessary when a patient’s symptoms worsen.

Heart Conditions

Regular monitoring is necessary for the management of certain chronic heart disorders, such as arrhythmia. It’s only sometimes necessary to see a doctor or specialist in person for such screenings.

By utilizing various screening tools, healthcare experts can provide the same level of care as they would during an office visit.

For example, patients receiving treatment for a cardiac disease with a pacemaker can easily communicate with a physician via video conference. A doctor can listen to a patient’s heartbeat over the phone even though they are not in the same room.

Moreover, Patients who don’t have easy access to medical care should pay particular attention to this vital care.

Post-Surgical Follow-Ups

The initial weeks of healing after a surgery patient’s discharge are crucial.

Remote patient interaction is quite beneficial to those recovering from an operation. They avoid the trouble and discomfort of going from home while they heal.

Telemedicine enables medical caregivers to conduct frequent evaluations, which is only sometimes feasible once a patient leaves the hospital.

When to visit the doctor?

Telehealth is a tool for providing medical care for chronic health conditions, minor diseases and injuries.

However, we are unable to treat life-threatening illnesses from a distance. Make an emergency room visit or dial 911 if you have a gaping wound, breathing difficulties, or chest pain.

You may also need to visit the office for a physical exam or injury treatment if injury telemedicine care doesn’t diagnose your health issue.

Or if Telemedicine doesn’t diagnose your health issue.

Of course, it’s acceptable if you would rather see your doctor in person.

Although Telemedicine may not be suitable for all patients, it does make receiving necessary medical treatment more convenient for many people. We consider ourselves lucky to provide our patients with telehealth appointments.

Telemedicine may only work for some patients. However, it makes it easier for many people to get the care they need.
